Bro. Jerry W. Chaddick was born in DeRidder, Louisiana, in November of 1972. As a child he grew up in church, and had a head knowledge of the Lord. He later received Christ and was baptized. After graduation from high school he surrendered to the call of God to preach in July of 1991. He married Julie Welch, also a native of DeRidder, in August of 1994. They have two children, Luke, born in November of 2002 and Keeley, born in December of 2005.
After graduating from DeRidder High School in 1990, He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Religion from Liberty University in 1996. He later attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
From July of 1991 to February of 2004, Bro. Jerry pastored four churches in Louisiana and Mississippi, with memberships ranging from 100 to 2,000, and attendances ranging from 30 to 1,000. These churches were consistently recognized by their state conventions for the Sunday School growth and number of baptisms reached during the church year. During these years, in addition to those pastoral duties, Bro. Jerry preached revivals, meetings and Bible Conferences, and served in the following capacities: Committee on Committees of the Louisiana Baptist Convention (Chairman); President of the Louisiana Baptist Pastorís Conference; Board of Trustees at Louisiana College, Pineville, Louisiana (Chairman); Committee on Nominations of the Southern Baptist Convention; and Pastor Advisor, recording secretary and parliamentarian for the Conference of Southern Baptist Evangelists.
In February, 2004, Bro. Jerry Chaddick was called by God to enter full-time evangelism, and for three years (February 2004 Ė March 2007) spread the gospel through Conferences, Camps, Church Revivals and one-day Harvest Celebrations. His ministry is titled Spirit Truth Ministries, Inc., birthed from the verse John 4:24: "God is a Spirit; and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth." His desire is to see God bring genuine revival to our churches, and a harvest of souls into His kingdom.
In February, 2006, Bro. Jerry was led to plant a church with a burden for reaching Southwest Louisiana. Open Door Baptist Church was started in a living room and eventually moved into their current building in Moss bluff, Louisiana in March of 2007. He has the blessing of serving as Open Doorís pastor. Open Door planted a campus in Deridder, Louisiana and moved into their building in February of 2009. The Burden of Open Door is to be a fellowship of believers who further the truth of Godís Word with integrity and balance.
In addition to being the pastor of Open Door, Bro. Jerry travels extensively preaching in Conferences, Crusades and Church Revivals. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Fires of Revival, a ministry whose burden is to carry the message of faith, prayer, repentance and revival to the nation. Fires of Revival distribute a quarterly newspaper full of articles from some of todayís most influential Christian leaders to all Southern Baptist churches. The ministry also hosts Bible Conferences throughout the United States.
